SCOTLAND is enjoying the ‘final days’ of sunshine before predicted downpours.<\/p>\n

Highs of 17\u00b0C are forecast for parts of Glasgow<\/a> today, but a change in the\u00a0weather\u00a0pattern will bring downpours over the weekend and into next week.<\/p>\n

It comes as locals and tourists soak up the sun in George Square and the city centre.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Edinburgh<\/a> is experiencing Sunny intervals and a gentle breeze.<\/p>\n

Aberdeen<\/a> is scorching and enjoying highs of 8\u00b0C with a moderate breeze.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile an “extreme” wildfire warning was issued in\u00a0Scotland<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Firefighters<\/a> remained at the scene of a wildfire on the Isle of Arran, to the north-west of Brodick, as well as one in the Cumbernauld area of North\u00a0Lanarkshire<\/a>\u00a0which broke out on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

However sunshine that has blazed this month is set to end.<\/p>\n

High pressure responsible for blue skies is slipping<\/a> into the continent, replaced by cloud and rain coming in from the west.<\/p>\n

In the first 10 days of this month alone, Scotland<\/a> has enjoyed almost three-quarters of the sunshine it would normally expect in the entire month of April.<\/p>\n

Met Office<\/a> Chief Meteorologist Jason Kelly said: \u201cA change is on the way this weekend, as we say goodbye to the wall-to-wall sunshine.<\/p>\n

\u201cHigh pressure sinks southwards and allows low pressure to take hold bringing more cloud, rain and showers, and also lower temperatures.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe far north west of Scotland will start to see the change as rain and drizzle lingers into Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe weekend will start dry for much of the UK<\/a>, with the best of the sunshine in Scotland and northern and eastern England<\/a>, where maximum temperatures of 23C could be reached.\u201d<\/p>\n

Supermarkets are expecting an early-season rush in the morning for barbecue staples like burgers, buns and beers.<\/p>\n
