Cher<\/a>‘s troubled son Elijah Blue Allman\u00a0reportedly\u00a0overdosed<\/a> in Southern California<\/a> over the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A source revealed to TMZ <\/a>that the legendary performer’s youngest child, 48, whom she shared with the late Gregg Allman, ‘was rushed to the hospital in Joshua Tree, California, after overdosing earlier Saturday morning.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

The outlet also reported that it is unknown ‘what drugs he was using’ and that he is ‘receiving the best care possible.’<\/p>\n

The insider added\u00a0Allman is ‘very lucky to have survived.’<\/p>\n

At this time, his mother is focused on ‘doing everything she can to get him the help he needs’ and only concerned for her son’s\u00a0well-being.<\/p>\n

Daily Mail has contacted Cher’s representatives for comment.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Back in 2014, Allman revealed he\u00a0began using drugs, like weed and ecstasy, at just 11 and detailed some close calls when it came to overdosing.<\/p>\n

‘I [was] just looking to escape all the things in my past and, that’s when you turn to those kind of drugs, you know heroin and opiates,’ he told ET. ‘[Heroin] kind of saved me \u2026 If I didn’t have that at that point, I don’t know what I would have done \u2026You may jump off a bridge. If you can only just go through that time period and live through it and then get help.’<\/p>\n

Allman also revealed he had ‘some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality.’\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

‘I always kind of kept it a little bit safe but you never can do that,’ he explained. ‘Even though you think that in your mind, of course the wrong things can happen. The wrong combination of things can happen and you can just slip into the abyss. I knew it was wrong and I knew that I was very unsatisfied with life at that point.’<\/p>\n

The Oscar winner filed for a temporary sole conservatorship over Elijah\u2019s finances in 2023,\u00a0 arguing\u00a0 he suffered from ‘severe mental health and substance abuse issues.’<\/p>\n

‘Any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah\u2019s life at risk,’ the court documents read.<\/p>\n

Cher withdrew the request in September 2024, nine months after he had filed court documents stating he was sober and had been attending AA-type meetings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Allman’s father, Gregg, suffered from substance abuse issues which doctors believe lead to his death from liver cancer in 2012.<\/p>\n

Allman’s reported overdose comes after he was seen looking very sunburned, sweaty and disoriented outside the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles in May.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He is currently going through a divorce from his estranged wife, Marieangela King.<\/p>\n

She has cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ and requested he pay $6,000 per month in temporary spousal support.<\/p>\n
