No matter how much you praise Leeds<\/a>, the West Yorkshire city still manages to remain underrated.\u00a0With loads of great things to do, delicious things to eat, and cracking nightlife, it\u2019s one of the UK\u2019s great cultural hubs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And we\u2019re big fans of Leeds here at Time Out. We\u2019ve got guides to the city\u2019s best things to do<\/a>, bars<\/a>, art galleries<\/a>, hotels<\/a> and so much more. Excitingly, we\u2019ve just fully revamped one of our most essential Leeds guides for 2025: its tastiest restaurants.<\/p>\n

So where should you dine right now in the UK\u2019s fourth (or fifth, depending on who you ask) biggest city? Our local food expert Vicky Chandler says you should drop everything and head to\u00a0Bavette<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This French bistro is the definition of small but mighty. It\u2019s not only us who rate it highly: it was also awarded a Bib Gourmand by Michelin<\/a> this year, recognising its excellent cooking at a reasonable price<\/a>. But what do we love so much about it?<\/p>\n

Vicky describes Bavette as having \u2018classic French dishes cooked to perfection\u2019, and specifically mentions that you must try the wine \u2018exclusively blended for the bistro from Cousin\u2019s [co-owner\u00a0Cl\u00e9ment Cousin] family vineyard in the Loire Vally\u2019.<\/p>\n

Narrowly missing out on first place was Empire Cafe<\/strong>,\u00a0\u2018a historic caf\u00e9 turned uber-cool restaurant\u2019 where \u2018the vibes and the cocktails stand up to the kitchen creations\u2019. In third place was Ox Club<\/strong>, which does wonders with traditional wood-fired cooking.<\/p>\n

Another spot on our list comes highly recommended from the experts at Michelin<\/a>. Prashad, which offers \u2018hearty, traditional southern Indian dishes in a family-run spot\u2019, placed 12th.\u00a0<\/p>\n
