A new British-set drama is officially in the works from Power<\/a> boss Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson.<\/p>\n

Taking place in London, Fightland will follow a formerly incarcerated boxing champion seeking revenge against the crime family he thinks betrayed him. <\/p>\n

According to Deadline<\/a>, the “high-octane and “cutthroat” series features themes of redemption, betrayal, and brutal ambition in and out of the ring. With a host of dangerous characters, Fightland promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.<\/p>\n

Rapper and actor Jackson<\/a> will serve as executive producer on the project, making this his first internationally produced show through his G-Unit Film & Television production company. <\/p>\n

“I am excited to bring that global energy to the screen,” said Jackson. “I anticipate this to be more successful than anything I’ve done before\u2014boxing’s raw stakes are gonna take it to another level.”<\/p>\n

Starz has officially greenlit eight episodes of the crime drama, with production scheduled to begin this Autumn in London.<\/p>\n

The network is already home to Jackson’s hugely popular Power franchise, including Power (2014), Power Book II: Ghost<\/a> (2020), Power Book III: Raising Kanan<\/a> (2021), and Power Book IV: Force<\/a> (2022). <\/p>\n

In Power, executive producer Jackson stars as Kanan Stark, a drug lord and mentor-turned-rival to protagonists Ghost and Tommy. The character also fronts the prequel spin-off Raising Kanan<\/a>, which is set in the ’90s and sees Mekai Curtis playing a young Kanan. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, another prequel show is also in development within the Power universe. Power: Origins<\/a> was announced last year and will focus on Ghost and Tommy as they rise through the ranks in the dangerous world of drug dealing. <\/p>\n
