Trainer Phil D\u2019Amato reported Motorious (GB) was in fine fettle the morning after winning the Daytona (G3) when making his 7-year-old debut Saturday at Santa Anita.<\/p>\n

Motorious, who hadn\u2019t started since winning the Joe Hernandez (G2) in December at Santa Anita, rallied into a slow pace and drew away late to score by 1\u00bd lengths sprinting about 6\u00bd furlongs on the hillside turf course.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came out of the race in good shape. I was very happy with his performance yesterday,\u201d D\u2019Amato said of the Muhaarar gelding.<\/p>\n

D\u2019Amato said Motorious would now point to the Green Flash (G3) in August at Del Mar, which he won last year just prior to narrow runner-up finish by a neck in the Breeders\u2019 Cup Turf Sprint (G1). Motorious, who started his career in his native England, has an overall record of 8-5-2 from 21 starts and $807,604 in earnings. He is owned by Anthony Fanticola.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Saturday\u2019s card, multiple stakes winner Thought Process got her 3-year-old season started for D\u2019Amato with a dominant 5\u00be-length allowance win going a mile on turf. It was her first start since the Breeders\u2019 Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) in November when she led into deep stretch before weakening to ninth.<\/p>\n

D\u2019Amato said Thought Process, who last year won the urfer Girl (G3) at Santa Anita and Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf, would likely return in the San Clemente (G2) going a mile on turf on July 19 at Del Mar. That would serve as a steppingstone to the Del Mar Oaks (G1) at 1 1\/8 miles on Aug. 16.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s a very talented filly. She showed that last year,\u201d D\u2019Amato said. \u201cHopefully she can keep doing what she\u2019s doing and get a Grade 1 victory in the Del Mar Oaks.\u201d<\/p>\n

By Collected, Thought Process has a record of 4-0-1 from six career starts and $224,200 in earnings. She owned by The Estate of Brereton C. Jones, who bred the filly, with partners Madaket Stables and Little Red Feather Racing.<\/p>\n
