A step above<\/p>\n

More of Trent Alexander-Arnold\u2019s first 24 hours as a Real Madrid is being shared, and Liverpool fans may not appreciate some of his latest comments about leaving his boyhood club.<\/p>\n

Most of the backlash around the right-back\u2019s exit has been this notion that he sees Real Madrid as a level above the mighty Reds.<\/p>\n

Although the clubs might be on a level playing field in terms of their competitiveness on the pitch, it\u2019s clear that Real Madrid is one of the few true absolute giant clubs in the football world and an iconic destination for players across the globe.<\/p>\n

Trent has said just that in an interview with Real Madrid\u2019s in-house media, that he strives to compete at the very highest level and he felt he had to leave Liverpool to do that.<\/p>\n

The Anfield faithful won\u2019t see it that way, though.<\/p>\n

“To bea Real Madrid player is something that most, if not every, player in the world desires to be at some point in their life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFor it to be real is still very much a pinch-me moment, it\u2019s hard to get your head around.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be here now, around the club and around the city, it\u2019s special. To feel like this is my new home, the way I’ve been welcomed here so far has been amazing, and I\u2019m excited to get started.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone who knows anything about football understands that the club demands success and demands trophies, me, my mindset as a player as well is something similar.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be winning trophies, I want to be playing for the best clubs in the world and achieving the best things.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now is the right time to change from Liverpool and to feel something different, and to do it at a place like this, there\u2019s no better place to be doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n
