Two batches of paracetamol have been recalled as a precautionary measure after reports of \u201cdiscoloured tablets\u201d.<\/p>\n
A notice issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) referred to batches of 500mg pills manufactured by Chelonia Healthcare Limited, reports Express.co.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n The affected pills <\/a>are distributed in containers of 100.<\/p>\n READ MORE: <\/b>All the Midlands areas where poo has been discharged into canals and rivers<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n Get breaking news on BirminghamLive WhatsApp<\/a>, click the link to join<\/b><\/p>\n The MHRA<\/a> described the recall as Class 2, which means the defect may cause mistreatment or harm to the patient however it is not life-threatening or serious.<\/p>\n It relates to two batches of pills. <\/a><\/p>\n One possesses the number 2312010 and an expiry date of November 30, 2027.<\/p>\n The other has the batch number 2312011 and an expiration date of November 31, 2027.<\/p>\n The two products were first distributed in April and May this year.<\/p>\n The notice read: \u201cPatients or carers should check to see if they have received tablets from the listed batches<\/a> of Paracetamol 500 mg Tablets.<\/p>\n “The batch number can be found on the label of the medicine bottle and on the outer carton,” it continued.<\/p>\n “These tablets can only be obtained from a pharmacy with a prescription.<\/p>\n \u201cThe number of tablets you will have been given will vary depending on your prescription and you may have only received a small number of tablets.<\/p>\n \u201cThe tablets should be \u2018white capsule-shaped tablets, scored on one side\u2019, as per the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL).\u201d<\/p>\n
