Keith Thurman<\/a> continues to wipe dirt off his proverbial grave. <\/p>\n

Long stints of inactivity have pushed him off boxing’s mountain top, and as a result, he landed in obscurity. But while some believed that he would remain there for eternity, the former welterweight champ promised to climb his way out of the abyss. <\/p>\n

For the most part, Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) has done just that thanks to his recent third-round stoppage win over Australian contender Brock Jarvis<\/a>. Like most of the boxing world, former two-division titlist Danny Garcia wanted to see what Thurman had left in the tank. <\/p>\n

Before watching him go to work, Garcia was unsure what version of Thurman would show up. But, after dominating Jarvis for his first finish in a decade, Garcia wants to see more. <\/p>\n

By and large, Thurman is a man with options. However, the name Jermell Charlo<\/a> keeps floating around. Although he was once the junior middleweight division’s top dog, Garcia believes that the combination of Thurman showing he’s far from done and Charlo’s absence, makes it a toss-up. <\/p>\n

“That’s a good fight,” Garcia told FightHype.com. “That’s an interesting fight for sure. Thurman looked good his last fight, Jermell hasn’t been in there in a while. That’s a real good fight.”<\/p>\n

Not only is it a good fight on paper, but also practical. Thurman was hoping his win over Jarvis would lead to a Tim Tszyu<\/a> showdown but with the former WBO junior middleweight champion opting instead to exercise his rematch clause for Sebastian Fundora<\/a>, the 36-year-old needs a plan B in the meantime. <\/p>\n

As for Charlo, he\u2019s been both out of sight and mind since losing a lopsided 12-round decision to undisputed 168-pound king Canelo Alvarez<\/a> in September 2023. There’s no return date lined up yet, though he’s teased fans and promises a return to his old division.<\/p>\n

For now, nothing is set in stone. Garcia though, is hoping they can get it on at some point.<\/p>\n
