In a new Instagram post, the mother of two celebrates the end of the school year in the pool. \u201cSchools out \u2026 it\u2019s summer and swimsuit season \u2026 hope you are ready!\u201d she captioned the swimsuit snap. \u201cYou look AMAZING,\u201d commented one of her followers. \u201cGorgeous !\u201d added another. How does the tennis star approach diet and fitness? Here is everything you need to know about her approach.<\/p>\n<p>Serena is all about viewing food as fuel. \u201cMy philosophy is eat to live. Don\u2019t live to eat,\u201d Serena told <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/food\/a37329089\/serena-williams-diet\/\" target=\"_blank\">Women\u2019s Health<\/a>. \u201cYou need it to survive. And [that\u2019s] very hard to live by, cause I definitely love to snack, but this is what I want. These are my goals.\u201d She is also moody when it comes to food. \u201cI can have a smoothie for six months. And then I\u2019ll be like, I never want to see a smoothie again for the next six months. And then I\u2019ll be like, okay, I\u2019m back on the smoothie. My eating is very moody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Serena is a fan of fasted exercise. \u201cI often don\u2019t make breakfast because I just forget or I\u2019m running around getting Olympia ready. And then I go work out,\u201d she told Women\u2019s Health. \u201cWhen I roll out of bed, I\u2019m just not hungry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Serena is very specific about her eating habits. \u201cI want to have a healthy lifestyle and, so you know, [I\u2019m eating] a lot of greens and mostly plant-based lately, just super healthy stuff,\u201d she told Women\u2019s Health. \u201cI had a bean burger the other day today\u2026[Today] I had a gluten-free bean burrito.\u201dComplex carbs are fuel for exercise, says Serena. \u201cThe only time I eat pasta is when I\u2019m playing\/training. Usually, you\u2019ll never see me eating pasta otherwise,\u201d she told Women\u2019s Health. \u201cI usually like to have lots of greens before my match and then fruit actually, and a little carbs and some sort of a protein.\u201dSerena endorses the occasional cheat meal. \u201cI love Moon Pies. If \u2018Moon Pie\u2019 sponsored me, I\u2019d be bigger than any house on this planet!\u201d she joked to Women\u2019s Health.<\/p>\n<p>Serena enjoys hiking. \u201cWhen someone tells you to \u201cgo take a hike \u2026\u201d she captioned a recent Instagram snap. \u201cHiking is one of the best ways to get exercise. No matter what type of trail you find yourself on, hiking is a great whole-body workout\u2014from head to toe and everything in between,\u201d says the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/subjects\/trails\/benefits-of-hiking.htm\" target=\"_blank\">National Parks Service<\/a>. Some of the physical benefits include building stronger muscles and bones, improving balance, enhancing heart health, and reducing the risk of specific respiratory issues. It also offers numerous mental health benefits, according to a\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/news.stanford.edu\/2015\/06\/30\/hiking-mental-health-063015\/\" target=\"_blank\">study by Stanford University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLISTEN \u2013 I stay on \u2018ready set\u2019 in case I have to RUN \ud83c\udfc3\ud83c\udfff\u200d\u2640\ufe0f and grab baby<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/adiraohanian\/\" target=\"_blank\"> @adiraohanian<\/a> \u2026.
