Incredible Bob MacIntyre<\/a> produced one of the gutsiest rounds of golf in recent memory then offered J.J Spaun the warmest of embraces after being pipped to glory at the US Open.<\/p>\n The 28-year-old was being filmed inside the clubhouse at Oakmont and produced a moment of class which matched his brilliance on the course as he warmly clapped for the surprise winner who battled the elements masterfully. The Scottish hero mouthed ‘wow’ as Spaun sank a 64-foot birdie in treacherous conditions.<\/p>\n MacIntyre refused to give in and carded a truly astonishing round of two under amid torrential downpour which caused a rain delay at the feared Pennsylvania course which specialises in causing nightmares<\/p>\n But MacIntyre was in dreamland with his final round and it was only the brilliance of Spaun with putter in hand which was able to keep the ferocious Oban fighter at bay.<\/p>\n Now the Scots star will further shoot up the PGA rankings after his latest gutsy efforts and tees himself up perfectly for a return to these shores with the Scottish Open<\/a> and The Open<\/a> next month.<\/p>\n Spaun spoke of his joy after coming out on top as he leaned on a career of near misses to stand tall in the end. He said: The weather delay changed the whole vibe for the day. A similar thing happened to me at the Players and I kind of leaned on that whole experience.<\/p>\n “I’m a guy that believes.
