England international Dom Young has confirmed his mid-season NRL move from Sydney Roosters to Newcastle Knights after a \u2018weird\u2019 final game for Trent Robinson\u2019s side.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a badly-kept secret that Young was set to return to the Knights<\/a> with the England star leaving the Roosters after 18 months. His former season was stellar but following the signing of rugby union convert Mark Nawaqanitawase, he\u2019s found opportunities harder to come by.<\/p>\n

Equally, the Knights have found points hard to come by which has even resulted in the recall of Jackson Hastings, though the signing of Young could have more impact.<\/p>\n

During his time with Newcastle, Young scored almost a try per game as he established himself as one of the finest wingers in the NRL. Now, after playing against them on Saturday, he\u2019s set to link up with them by Monday.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s something Young has confirmed to The Daily Telegraph<\/a>\u00a0with an official announcement from the clubs expected imminently.<\/p>\n

The Roosters won Saturday\u2019s game 12-6 so whilst Young was on the winning side in the match, he now joins the losing side in review.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be in (Newcastle\u2019s) review on Monday,\u201d Young confirmed to the Telegraph after revealing that he has already moved his stuff into Kai Pearce-Paul\u2019s place.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mate KPP is putting me up for a little bit. I have to put up with him for a couple of weeks. I drove all my stuff up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the bizarre circumstances of entering with one side and leaving with another, Young thanked the Roosters but expressed excitement at his Knights\u2019 return.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would be lying to say it wasn\u2019t a weird one coming to the game with the circumstances,\u201d Young explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI appreciate the Roosters. They have been really good to me. I am grateful for the opportunity they have given me. I really enjoyed my last game.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a little bit weird. I still had a job to do because I was a Rooster and I tried to do my best every time I put the jersey on. It was the same tonight regardless of the circumstances. I wanted to finish on a high and finish with a win.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his Newcastle return, he said: \u201cI have a lot of good memories at Newcastle. It brings that excitement that I am going to Newcastle as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019 a good thing for me being back in Newcastle. We still have a big year ahead. I am really excited \u2013 I have a lot of good relationships in Newcastle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know everyone. It\u2019ll be awesome even though moving mid-season wasn\u2019t ideal.\u201d<\/p>\n
