{"id":188700,"date":"2025-06-16T10:06:13","date_gmt":"2025-06-16T10:06:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/188700\/"},"modified":"2025-06-16T10:06:13","modified_gmt":"2025-06-16T10:06:13","slug":"jack-draper-explains-how-the-entire-atp-tour-reacted-to-the-french-open-final-between-carlos-alcaraz-and-jannik-sinner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/188700\/","title":{"rendered":"Jack Draper explains how the entire ATP tour reacted to the French Open final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Jack Draper is back in Queen\u2019s this week, and will be hoping to enjoy a solid run ahead of Wimbledon later this month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, any hopes of winning this upcoming Grand Slam will certainly have been reduced somewhat after watching the Roland Garros final just a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>There, <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tennis\/jannik-sinner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jannik Sinner<\/a> put on the most magnificent display, battling through a five-set epic that left the tennis world, and many beyond it, stunned.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the kind of event that draws countless new people into the sport, such was the quality and drama of each point.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/jack-draper\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Draper<\/a> has since sought to review the action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jack Draper reviews the Roland Garros final<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the press ahead of his return to <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tag\/queens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Queen\u2019s<\/a> this week, one reporter wondered if Draper had made the time to watch that historic recent <a href=\"https:\/\/tennishead.net\/tennis\/tournaments\/roland-garros\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">French Open<\/a> final between Alcaraz and Sinner.<\/p>\n<p>He replied: \u2018I didn\u2019t watch the first two sets\u2026 I watched it in my flat. I watched the last three sets, unbelievable tennis. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-2219935857-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"2025 French Open - Day Fifteen\" \/>Photo by Franco Arland\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think it inspired all the players and I think it captured the attention of all the spectators, all the people around the world, even people who aren\u2019t into tennis, it was one of those sporting moments I think everyone was embraced by, so I think Jannik and Carlos did an unbelievable show there.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Shame someone had to lose, but that\u2019s the nature of sport; but I think tennis won for sure. <\/p>\n<p>Asked if he felt like he could reach that level soon, Draper then continued: \u2018Yeah, I mean, I think so. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018I think, you know, the tennis they were playing that was, I think the combination of them two together, I think it was the moment they were in. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u2018My friend said to me when we were watching them play, like, \u201cHow are they playing this way in this moment in this after five hours or something like that?\u201d And I said, \u201cI don\u2019t think they\u2019re thinking about anything. I think they\u2019re just thinking about playing\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u2018I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m capable of yet, but I aspire to be at that level, and I think what those guys are doing is setting away and it\u2019s changing the game. And I think that, you know, players like myself are going to be working very hard to get to that point.
