Two workmen have been rushed to hospital after being injured on a five-storey building site in Birmingham today, Monday, June 16.<\/p>\n
The men were rescued from the fourth floor by firefighters having become trapped at the site, off Bristol Road, in Edgbaston<\/a>, at around 8.30am.<\/p>\n One man, who suffered more serious injuries, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital<\/a> for further trauma treatment.<\/p>\n READ MORE: Police chase stolen BMW used in multiple burglaries and make discovery<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n A second man was taken to the Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital.<\/p>\n A West Midlands Ambulance Service<\/a> spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: “We were called to two people who had been injured on a building site on Bristol Road in Edgbaston<\/a> at 8.31am.<\/p>\n “HART paramedics, two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma team responded to the scene along with fire and police colleagues.<\/p>\n “On arrival crews found two men on the fourth floor of a building site who had been injured.<\/p>\n “HART paramedics worked with fire colleagues to reach the men before they were safely lowered to the ground.<\/p>\n “Both men sustained serious injuries and received trauma care on scene.<\/p>\n “One man, with more serious injuries, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital<\/a> for further trauma treatment.<\/p>\n “The second man was conveyed to Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital.”<\/p>\n
