The players on the WTA Tour are now gearing up for Wimbledon, with the Nottingham Open providing a final warm-up chance for some players. <\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a frantic period for the players, with the French Open<\/a> being won by Coco Gauff<\/a>, who defeated Aryna Sabalenka<\/a> in the final at Roland Garros<\/a>. <\/p>\n

This morning, players are receiving news of the latest update on the world rankings, with the top four positions the ones to be had ahead of Wimbledon<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Players will want to avoid other members of the top four before the semi-final stage and with that in mind, there is positive news for Qinwen Zheng<\/a>. <\/p>\n

However, Iga Swiatek<\/a> won\u2019t like what she\u2019s seeing this morning\u2026<\/p>\n

Zheng reached the semi-final at Queen\u2019s last week, defeating Emma Raducanu along the way, before losing to Amanda Anisimova. <\/p>\n

The 22-year-old managed to reach the last eight at the French Open before losing to Sabalenka and it does feel as though she\u2019s close to a maiden Grand Slam. <\/p>\n

Zheng\u2019s form of late appears to have handed her a huge boost ahead of Wimbledon, with the player now edging into the top four. <\/p>\n

The talented player reached the final of the Australian Open<\/a> and the WTA Tour Finals last year but has never gone to the second week at Wimbledon. <\/p>\n

Iga Swiatek discovers new WTA world ranking<\/p>\n

Swiatek is striving for a bit of consistency and her semi-final defeat to Sabalenka at the French Open ended her dominant streak of titles at that event. <\/p>\n

As the saying goes, however, form is temporary and class is permanent, with Swiatek more than capable of going all the way at Wimbledon. <\/p>\n
