A man has been arrested and charged more than three months after an Edinburgh<\/a> salon was allegedly firebombed.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old was detained by Police Scotland<\/a> officers on Sunday afternoon, after they swooped on Muirhouse Drive in the capital at around 6pm.<\/p>\n

The force said he was charged in connection with the blaze<\/a> which took place at the Belle Cheveux salon in the city’s Albert Street on March 6 this year.<\/p>\n

Edinburgh Live<\/a> states residents reported a large police presence at Muirhouse Drive on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Police confirmed a 26-year-old man was arrested at a property in the street in connection with outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said: “A 26-year-old man was arrested in connection with outstanding warrants after officers attended at a property in the Muirhouse Drive area of Edinburgh around 6pm on Sunday, June 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

“The Police Scotland spokesperson continued: “He has also been charged in connection with a wilful fire at a premises in Albert Street in Edinburgh on Thursday, 6 March.<\/p>\n

“He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court<\/a> today, Monday, 16 June.”<\/p>\n

The owner of Belle Cheveux<\/a> has previously been linked to the notorious Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson.<\/p>\n

This incident is believed to be one of the first in a series of gangland attacks across Edinburgh and Glasgow.<\/p>\n
