Harvey Elliott and his England teammates were left frustrated as they were held to a 0-0 draw with Slovenia in the U21 Euros. <\/strong><\/p>\n

After impressing during England\u2019s 3-1 opener against the Czech Republic, Elliott<\/a> was unable to unlock the door this time around, with the Slovenian defence holding firm. <\/p>\n

Currently sitting on four points in Group B, England face group leaders Germany next \u2013 a side which contains potential Liverpool target Nick Woltemade<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Three Lions will have to be on their A-game if they are to overcome the Old Enemy, with fans no doubt hoping Elliott can improve on his Slovenian showing. <\/p>\n

With Elliott likely to leave Liverpool<\/a> this summer, the midfielder\u2019s performance in Slovakia would have done him no favours at all. <\/p>\n

Despite Elliott picking up the player of the match accolade, many fans and media outlets weren\u2019t as impressed with his performance. <\/p>\n

GiveMeSport<\/a> would even rate the 22-year-old\u2019s display as low as a 5\/10 in their player ratings, with BBC Sport<\/a> ranking his performance not much better at a measly 5.51. <\/p>\n

GOAL<\/a> rated the Liverpool<\/a> man a 6\/10, claiming \u2018nothing came off for him\u2019 during the ninety minutes. <\/p>\n

The Daily Mail<\/a>, meanwhile, were slightly kinder in their judgement, ranking his performance a 6.5\/10<\/p>\n

Elliott highlights \u2018ridiculous\u2019 playing conditions <\/p>\n

England were slow and uninspiring throughout, with the Three Lions attack failing to provide the cutting edge needed. <\/p>\n

When reflecting on his side\u2019s performance, Elliott cited the warm conditions as a possible reason for their lacklustre display. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was ridiculous. It was tough. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve played in heat like that. You can\u2019t complain about these things. I\u2019d rather it be really hot today than pouring down with rain. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s another test, another obstacle in the way for us. We got through it. If we have to play in that heat again, I feel we have adapted to it very well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harvey Elliott, named player of the match #ENGSVN<\/a>, described the heat in Nitra as “ridiculous”. 28C at 6pm (local) kick-off, 26C second half. \u201cIt was ridiculous. It was tough. Elliott will be hoping both he and his teammates can overcome the \u2018ridiculous\u2019 heat when Germany come to town on Wednesday. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
