Sheffield Wednesday star Djeidi Gassama has reacted to a message from PSG\u2019s Senny Mayulu as several Owls players await payment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some Sheffield Wednesday stars have been paid<\/a>, but several senior players are still yet to be paid May\u2019s wages. <\/p>\n

Crucially, if owner Dejphon Chansiri fails to meet his wage obligations for a second consecutive month, the squad members will be allowed to depart Hillsborough on a free transfer if they hand in a 15-day notice.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, boss Danny Rohl could be set for a standoff with Chansiri<\/a>, as he looks to depart the South Yorkshire outfit. <\/p>\n

Gassama performed well for Wednesday last term<\/p>\n

Former Cardiff City man Callum Paterson could leave Sheffield Wednesday this summer<\/a>, once his contract expires, which will be a tough exit for supporters to witness, after the 30-year-old helped the Owls win promotion from League One in 2023.<\/p>\n

But Gassama\u2019s potential departure would arguably be among the most damaging factors of the South Yorkshire side\u2019s financial turmoil, as the 21-year-old still boasts bags of potential and has already produced the goods at Championship level for Rohl\u2019s men.<\/p>\n

Last season, the former PSG man notched seven goals and one assist in 43 second-tier appearances, while his pace on the counter-attack helped the Owls enjoy the fifth-best away record in the Championship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He is still under contract until 2026, but that agreement could be ripped apart next month, should Chansiri\u2019s financial mismanagement persist.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
