Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a ‘beloved father’ and ‘pillar of the community’ who was killed in a tragic crash in Manchester.<\/p>\n
Abul Kalam, 64, sadly died after a car collided with him as he walked along Slade Lane in Manchester on June 9. The driver, a 78-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She has since been released on bail.<\/p>\n
In a moving tribute to Abul, his wife Farida Akhter said ‘the love and laughter he shared with every person he met’ would live on in the family and community he created.<\/p>\n
Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cAbul Kalam, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandad and friend,” she wrote in a tribute issued by Greater Manchester Police<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThough he was taken from us in this brutal and tragic manner, the love and laughter he shared with every person he met will live on in the family and community he created everywhere he went.<\/p>\n \u201cWe as a family hold onto the fond memories of a life stolen, admired by so many, a pillar of our family and community. Prayers will continue to be made by all those that love and miss him. We’d like to urge anyone to please come forward and contact the police.<\/p>\n \u201cWe also kindly ask to respect the privacy of the family during this mourning period.<\/p>\n \u201cLastly, to Abul, thank you for everything you gave us; you gave even when you had nothing and that will be cherished eternally.
