Sarah, Duchess of York<\/a> has taken royal fans by surprise today after revealing that she recently travelled to Zurich to visit a clinic which specialises in helping those facing mental health and addiction struggles.<\/a> While the Duchess is understood to not have recieved any sort of treatment, she wrote about her visit to Paracelsus Recovery in an interview with the Telegraph<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Prince Andrew<\/a>‘s ex-wife, who has spoken out about her previous mental health challenges, which she believes may stem from her childhood, said she is “not embarrassed” to talk about her time at the clinic, and wants to raise awareness of the need to seek help. In a message on social media, she wrote: “Mental health touches us all – it has no boundaries. We need to promote open conversations about mental health and how we can improve access to mental healthcare across society.”<\/p>\n

Fergie, as she is known to family and friends, wrote about her treatments at the clinic for the Telegraph<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She said: “One of the most innovative [treatments] I witnessed was the Satori Chair. This state-of-the-art device uses vibrational sound therapy designed to retrain the brain to relax, producing deep, lasting levels of relaxation, meditation and sleep. For me, its effects were remarkable.<\/p>\n

“Another groundbreaking treatment I experienced is intermittent hypoxia-hyperoxia therapy (IHHT), a therapeutic approach that involves alternating cycles of hypoxia (low oxygen) and hyperoxia (high oxygen) to stimulate physiological responses in the body.”<\/p>\n

According to its website, the clinic – which offers a number of different treatment options – gives its guests a luxury experience, with a penthouse, private chef, driver, complementary therapists and a client relations team.<\/p>\n

The apartments used by clinic guests are set on the shores of Lake Zurich and consist of a master bedroom, an en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and a space for therapy, treatment, or relaxation.<\/p>\n

Guests also have a live-in therapist, who is on hand every hour of every day to provide support.<\/p>\n

As well as this, those being treated at the clinic also have a private chef to organise their daily meals.<\/p>\n
