Princess Kate and the Duchess of Edinburgh stepped out at Windsor Castle this afternoon for a major royal event.<\/p>\n

Kate, 43, and Sophie, 60, attended the Order of the Garter service – one of the most traditional Royal Family events in the calendar.<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales wore a white dress from the brand Self Portrait, which she paired with a Sean Barrett hat.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old wore her faux pearl necklace designed by Susan Caplan.<\/p>\n

The \u00a3275 necklace has since sold out due to its publicity after the Princess of Wales debuted it earlier this year.<\/p>\n

The Life Guards, members of the Household Cavalry, could be seen marching ahead of the Order of the Garter service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.<\/p>\n

The Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain, established by King Edward III nearly 700 years ago.<\/p>\n

Kate’s husband, Prince William, was inducted into the Order of the Garter in 2008.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, was inducted into the Order of the Garter in 2006.<\/p>\n

The two royal women were filmed arriving at Windsor Castle together in a car for the service to support their husbands.<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Edinburgh subsequently awaited the procession at the Galilee Porch at St George’s Chapel.<\/p>\n
