I think it’s quite important to look at some of the quotes that came out ahead of the final, where he made it very clear to the Korean media. Then I think after that to some English media that he admitted, I pretty much stayed at this club because I wanted to win a trophy.

“So you can kind of analyse that as if to say that had he won a trophy, maybe he would have looked at opportunities that came in. And now Son has won that trophy. And that’s what I understand, is that this summer is definitely the most open he’s been to getting a move if it’s one that suits all parties.

“Obviously, the Saudi Pro League, the clubs there, I think, would be very, very interested in taking him, some of them, because that’s a big thing for them to harness the Asian market. We know how huge he is within. And of course, he is also a terrific player. He is a superstar player.”

Son’s decision will be made after he meets with Thomas Frank

It has been reported that Son will meet with Thomas Frank to discuss the Dane’s plans before deciding his future.

It was claimed by Football Insider last week that Heung-min Son is ready to work under Frank at Tottenham as the forward feels that he still has a lot to offer the club.

However, the outlet claimed that the 32-year-old is also prepared for the possibility of leaving Spurs and is likely to have no shortage of interest from Europe or Saudi Arabia.

Have something to tell us about this article?
