The Scottish Premiership<\/a>\u00a0has received its latest market value update at Transfermarkt with 306 players witnessing their valuations increase or decrease. Celtic<\/a>\u00a0were crowned champions for the 13th time in 14 seasons to cement their dominance of Scottish football but they missed out on clinching another treble with Aberdeen<\/a>\u00a0victorious in the Scottish Cup<\/a>\u00a0final. Pivotal to Celtic\u2019s success was Daizen Maeda<\/a>\u00a0with the Japanese attacker registering 45 goal contributions in 51 games and the 27-year-old is now the most valuable player in Scotland.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, Celtic remain the most valuable club in Scotland with their squad\u2019s valuation increasing by \u20ac1.02 million to \u20ac131.8m. Celtic, however, weren\u2019t the biggest winners from the 2024\/25 end of season update as that title went to Motherwell<\/a>\u00a0with their squad value (\u20ac17.55m) soaring by \u20ac3.3m – due to Lennon Miller <\/a>– with Aberdeen\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0increasing by \u20ac1.75m to \u20ac23.9m. Conversely, Rangers\u2019<\/a>\u00a0squad valuation dropped the most by \u20ac2.9m to \u20ac76.6m with four other clubs receiving downgrades. The aforementioned changes to certain clubs should become clear when we analyse which players received significant updates in the latest release.<\/p>\n

\nCeltic and Rangers dominate: The most valuable players in the Scottish Premiership<\/p>\n

Maeda is the most valuable player in Scotland at \u20ac15m after receiving a \u20ac4m upgrade in the end of season Scottish Premiership update. The dynamic attacker has moved ahead of Celtic teammate Cameron-Cameron Vickers<\/a>\u00a0at \u20ac14m – Kyogo was also at \u20ac14m after December\u2019s update but departed for Rennes in January. \u201cMaeda has rightly been heralded for his relentless work-rate since joining Celtic but he improved his attacking output considerably last season,\u201d said Euan Robertson, UK Content Manager. \u201cHe scored 33 goals in all competitions, which was three times higher than his previous record of 11 at Celtic during the 22\/23 campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"As the graphic above illustrates, Celtic have the five most valuable players in Scotland with Nicolas Raskin<\/a>\u00a0the highest player outside the Scottish champions. Raskin\u2019s market value increased to \u20ac10m and Rangers\u00a0face a fight to keep the midfielder at Ibrox this summer. \u201cRaskin has finally delivered on his undeniable potential on a regular basis in 2025. His form gained recognition on the international stage as he made his Belgium debut in March and he\u2019s impressed with the national team. Although Raskin\u2019s market value stands at \u20ac10m, it\u2019s understood that Rangers want in excess of \u20ac15m to sell him this summer with bids anticipated.\u201d<\/p>\n

The biggest winners from the Scottish Premiership market value update<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two players received \u20ac4m upgrades in the latest update – Motherwell\u2019s Miller and Celtic\u2019s Maeda. Miller recently made his Scotland<\/a>\u00a0debut and he\u2019s widely regarded as one of the best young talents in the Scottish Premiership. The Motherwell star\u2019s market value doubled from \u20ac4m to \u20ac8m and the Lanarkshire side will receive a club-record fee when he\u2019s sold this summer – David Turnbull\u2019s \u20ac3m move to Celtic is the current highest. \u201cMiller is an exceptional prospect and plays with a maturity beyond his years. He will leave Fir Park this summer and it\u2019s understood that his preference is to continue his development by moving abroad but Premier League clubs could offer a tempting alternative.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"As the graphic above illustrates, Raskin\u2019s \u20ac3.5m increase secures third place with his Rangers teammate Hamza Igamane<\/a>\u00a0in fourth place (+\u20ac3m). Igamane\u2019s 16 goals is an impressive return for a 22-year-old in his first season in European football and Ranger are likely to receive offers for him this summer in excess of his \u20ac7m valuation. Two Aberdeen players feature in the top ten list in Jack Milne<\/a>\u00a0and Alexander Jensen<\/a>, while Hearts\u2019<\/a>\u00a0James Penrice<\/a>\u00a0is also rewarded for an excellent debut season at Hearts.<\/p>\n

The biggest downgrades from the Scottish Premiership market value update<\/strong><\/p>\n

The top ten biggest downgrades list features solely players from Scotland\u2019s two biggest clubs, Celtic and Rangers. This is mainly due to poor form or players getting older and it\u2019s a combination of both factors for several players on the list. Danilo<\/a>\u00a0arrived at Rangers to considerable fanfare for \u20ac6.3m in 2023 but injuries have seriously disrupted his time in Glasgow. The Brazilian was reduced to fleeting substitute appearances last season and his market value has been halved to \u20ac2m.<\/p>\n

\"\"Jeffrey Schlupp<\/a>\u00a0moved to Celtic on-loan from Crystal Palace in January but valuation also halved to \u20ac2m as his contract at Palace will expire this summer and he\u2019s unlikely to remain in the English Premier League. Auston Trusty<\/a>\u00a0has failed to impress after Celtic spent \u20ac7.1m to sign him last summer and he\u2019s lost his starting place with his market value dropping by \u20ac1.5m. Both Old Firm captains, Callum McGregor<\/a>\u00a0and James Tavernier<\/a>\u00a0received \u20ac1.5m downgrades due to their age, with Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland<\/a>\u00a0also dropping by the same amount.<\/p>\n
