The correct way to refer to Lewis Hamilton<\/a> these days is \u2018Sir\u2019, but we\u2019d give you a pass for \u2018Chef\u2019 today.<\/p>\n

At the New York premiere of F1<\/a> \u2014 the Brad Pitt<\/a> and Damson Idris<\/a> racing movie filmed at real F1 grands prix; Hamilton is a producer on the film, FYI \u2014 most of the drivers stopped in to attend. And, as is the case with Formula One events, there were 19 very nicely dressed guys and then there was Lewis Hamilton, looking like the best-dressed head chef in an upscale London restaurant<\/a> you can never get a reservation for.<\/p>\n

While the rest of the grid went for traditional tailoring in a range of grey, black and browns, Hamilton wore a pale pink jacket, which featured a stand collar and a folded-over lapel, worn with black trousers.<\/p>\n

The look itself is the penultimate outfit from Kim Jones\u2019<\/a> last Dior Men\u2019s collection, shown in January. Over the years, Hamilton has been a loyal ambassador to the house, and has even collaborated on a couple of capsule collections of his own.<\/p>\n

But despite the couture craftsmanship and the art deco diamond and ruby brooch (via Fereshteh Broumand Inc, by the way), the vibe was very\u2026 hot chef. And we don\u2019t mean the slacker hot line cook look<\/a> that Jeremy Allen White did a lot for in The Bear<\/a>, with the white T-shirts and patchwork tattoos. This is a hot head chef. Michelin-star hot. \u00a3600-a-head-and-that-doesn\u2019t-include-wine hot. Plating microgreens with those little tweezers hot. Hamilton looks like he\u2019s about to serve you something covered in a tasteless foam and you\u2019re going to fucking love it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a hard look to pull off, without it seeming costume-y. Maybe that\u2019s where the sparkling brooch comes in, or maybe it\u2019s his black boots which are topped with black satin bows.<\/p>\n

Either way, it works.
