Travellers have returned to a Birmingham family park – for the fifth time this year.<\/p>\n

Caravans and vehicles were spotted back at Swanshurst Park in Billesley<\/a> earlier today, Tuesday, June 17.<\/p>\n

It comes after travellers set up camp there several times in May<\/a>. They returned<\/a> at the start of this month.<\/p>\n

That came just 24 hours after members of a volunteer group dedicated to maintaining the park finished picking up rubbish after another group left.<\/p>\n

It meant an event scheduled for the community was cancelled.<\/p>\n

The Friends group posted on Facebook at the time: “We are cancelling our balsam bashing session this Saturday as the Travellers are very close to the area we would be working.<\/p>\n

“We will re-arrange another date and post details as soon as it has been decided.”<\/p>\n

The authorities have been notified after this latest development.<\/p>\n

Birmingham City Council<\/a> said it is “committed to actively protecting its land and will take steps to recover this land where unauthorised encampments encroach upon it”.<\/p>\n
