Temperatures across the UK will continue to climb with the weather becoming increasingly hot and sunny, meaning it is likely heatwave conditions are met <\/a>in some parts at the end of the week and into the weekend – although there is a chance it could extend into next week.<\/p>\n

Many parts of the UK will see temperatures range between 25C and 30C, with some areas potentially reaching up to 33C, for example in London.<\/p>\n

While such heat is not unprecedented this early in the summer, it is still considered quite intense. <\/p>\n

The UK’s June temperature record stands at 35.6C, set in Southampton in 1976, and current forecasts suggest that this record is unlikely to be broken this time.<\/p>\n

The UKHSA said an increase in demand for health services by vulnerable people is likely, as well as an increase in risk to health for individuals aged over 65 years or those with pre-existing health conditions, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.<\/p>\n

Internal temperatures in hospitals, care homes and independent accommodation could also pose a risk to vulnerable people.<\/p>\n
