Better late than never, hey? Across the city, Londoners are beginning to emerge from their hibernations, ready to revel in the <strong>short-but-sweet sunny season<\/strong>. And along with those sun-seeking city-folk, an east London <a href=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/outdoor-swimming-pools-london-lidos\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/outdoor-swimming-pools-london-lidos\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_0\" data-category=\"click_internal\">lido<\/a> is also waking up from its off-season slumber, ready to provide the perfect summery spot in the <strong>heart of the capital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer Splash<\/strong> is the name, and providing a safe al-fresco water space for the local community is the game. This new addition to London\u2019s roster of lidos comes courtesy of the <strong>Royal Docks<\/strong> and their summer programme, <strong>At The Docks<\/strong>. And unlike most of London\u2019s other outdoor pools, Summer Splash will be entirely <a href=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/free-things-to-do-london\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/free-things-to-do-london\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_1\" data-category=\"click_internal\">free to visit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-293667 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Making-a-splash-at-the-Royal-Docks-c-Emma-Nathan-Royal-Docks-min.jpeg\" alt=\"Some children sat on the side of a lido in London\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\"  \/>Credit: Emma Nathan \/ Royal Docks <\/p>\n<p>The unheated pool will only be open for a matter of weeks, opening its doors on<strong> July 25<\/strong> and closing them on<strong> August 17<\/strong>. Alongside the pool, there will be sandpits to play in, deckchairs to lounge in, a sauna to \u2013 well\u2026 sweat in, and a vibrant schedule of evening events to enjoy. The wider <strong>At The Docks programme<\/strong> will also offer Londoners the chance to try their hand at wakeboarding, <a href=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/paddleboarding-in-london\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/paddleboarding-in-london\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_2\" data-category=\"click_internal\">paddleboarding<\/a>, and open water <a href=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/open-water-swimming-canary-wharf\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/open-water-swimming-canary-wharf\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_3\" data-category=\"click_internal\">swimming<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> dreamy Dock-side lido<\/strong> will offer a pretty unique backdrop, with sweeping city <a href=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/best-places-for-panoramic-views-of-london\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretldn.com\/best-places-for-panoramic-views-of-london\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_4\" data-category=\"click_internal\">views<\/a> to gawp at as you swim.
