The Farm formed in 1984 and are renowned as pioneers in popularising football terrace culture and the crossover of indie\/dance music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The five piece, which comprises Peter Hooton, Carl Hunter, Keith Mullin, Roy Boulter and Steve Grimes, shot to stardom with their debut album Spartacus &#8211; and are renowned for <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/new-music\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"classic songsLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">classic songs<\/a> such as All Together Now and Groovy Train.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">They have announced the release of the first album in 31 years with Let The Music (Take Control), which is released on Friday. The band&#8217;s singer and lyricist, Peter Hooton, has spoken about how the new music remains true to The Farm&#8217;s trademark energy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Speaking of opening track, Forever &amp; Ever, he said: &#8220;When I first heard the new music in rehearsals, I knew I had to match the infectious nature of the music, so went for lyrics that aim straight between the eyes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;I went for the timeless theme of everlasting love. It\u2019s about love, obsession and infatuation.&#8221; To mark the release of the album, the band will be playing a special launch party at the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/whats-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Jacaranda Baltic this FridayLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Jacaranda Baltic this Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The event will see the band perform an intimate gig as fans also have the chance to get a CD or vinyl of the new album. The album features 10 new songs, including Feel the Love, Waiting For the Sun and World Without You.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">World Without You was the final track to be released as a single from the new album and Peter explained it is inspired by the death of two musical icons.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He said: &#8220;I wrote these lyrics after [David} Bowie passed away. I was so upset when he died, I was trying to imagine a world without him because he seemed immortal when I was young.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He added: &#8220;One of the lines in it \u2018take me into the light\u2019 were apparently Lou Reed\u2019s last words, so I thought that was fitting to include them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Although this is their first new album since 1994, The Farm have been fixtures on the live music scene since 2004.
