Taylor Fritz has made a fantastic start to his grass court season, having just won the Boss Open in Stuttgart.<\/strong><\/p>\n

World number four Fritz has now won four grass court titles<\/a> on the ATP Tour<\/a>, with his current focus now turning to Queen\u2019s.<\/p>\n

His latest victory comes after a miserable venture at the French Open, where Fritz<\/a> lost his first round match against Daniel Altmaier.<\/p>\n

Fritz says he thinks really well on court<\/a>, with that skill having clearly helped him enjoy a successful run in Stuttgart.<\/p>\n

The American second seed beat Quentin Halys, Marton Fucsovics and Felix Auger-Aliassime before a final win over top seed Alexander Zverev.<\/p>\n

It is, however, Jannik Sinner<\/a> and Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> who have dominated the ATP Tour in terms of Grand Slams once again this year.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the duo, Fritz told Tennis Channel: \u201cThey\u2019re showing time and time again that they\u2019re just a level above right now, and everyone else is going to have to catch up.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I think it\u2019s motivating for a lot of us to see that level and know what we have to compete against and what we have to work towards.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn a slow surface like Roland Garros with the slow ball, I think in those conditions, it really does look like a level up across the board.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, there are certain shots and specific things that people can do better or compete with, but I mean I absolutely like my chances more on a grass court than on a slow clay court.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor Fritz ATP Tour titles after Boss Open title in Stuttgart<\/p>\n

Sinner triumphed at the Australian Open at the start of the year, defeating Zverev to successfully defend his title.<\/p>\n

Then at the French Open, the world number one was beaten in the final by Alcaraz, who also defended his title.<\/p>\n

The Spaniard will also enter Wimbledon as a two-time defending champion, while Sinner will look to defend his US Open crown later this year.<\/p>\n

It was at Flushing Meadows in 2024 where Fritz enjoyed his best-ever Grand Slam finish, having lost the US Open final to Sinner.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

But hard court tennis will be at the very back of his mind right now, with a firm focus on grass needed for the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

His other five have arrived on hard courts, with the American set to be glad to see the back of the clay-court season.<\/p>\n

But even on one of his stronger surfaces, Fritz is very likely going to need to beat Sinner or Alcaraz \u2013 or potentially both \u2013 in order to triumph at the likes of Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
