class=\"spaced-bullet-spacing\">\n<li>Several explosions rocked areas across Iran, including its central and western provinces as well as the densely populated capital, Tehran, as Israel stepped up bombardment.<\/li>\n<li>The Israeli military said it struck \u201c12 missile launch and storage sites\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Isfahan province and Tabriz city were among those attacked by Israel, while attacks on Tehran were \u201ccontinuous and intense\u201d, according to Iranian state media IRNA.<\/li>\n<li>Israel\u2019s military claimed that one of its strikes in Tehran assassinated the Iranian army\u2019s war chief of staff, Ali Shadmani.<\/li>\n<li>Iran launched retaliatory strikes towards parts of northern Israel and Tel Aviv, and said its missile attacks hit a military intelligence centre and a Mossad operations planning centre.<\/li>\n<li>Iran\u2019s Revolutionary Guard said strikes are targeting the Israeli airbases from which attacks on Iran were launched.<\/li>\n<li>Iran\u2019s army also said it tracked and intercepted 28 \u201chostile aircraft\u201d in the past 24 hours, adding that one of them was a spy drone trying to gain intelligence on \u201csensitive\u201d sites.<\/li>\n<li>Abdolrahim Mousavi, the Iranian army\u2019s chief of staff, said that the attacks carried out so far have been a \u201cwarning for deterrence\u201d, and said that \u201cthe punitive operation will be executed soon\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Casualties and disruptions<\/p>\n<ul class=\"spaced-bullet-spacing\">\n<li>Several people were killed in Israel\u2019s attack on an Iranian television building on Monday, Tehran reported, and three others died in strikes on the central city of Kashan.<\/li>\n<li>Israel did not report any deaths on Tuesday.<\/li>\n<li>The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said it conducted more satellite imagery analysis of Israel\u2019s recent attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, and added that it had further evidence indicating \u201cdirect impacts\u201d on the \u201cunderground enrichment halls\u201d in the Natanz facility.<\/li>\n<li>The IAEA said its analysis did not show any such change at two of Iran\u2019s other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/news\/2025\/6\/16\/iaea-warns-israel-iran-conflict-threatens-nuclear-facilities-diplomacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">major nuclear facilities<\/a> attacked by Israel \u2013 Isfahan and Fordow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul class=\"spaced-bullet-spacing\">\n<li>The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, warned of a devastating toll on civilians and potential health risks associated with Israel\u2019s nuclear-site attacks on Iran.<\/li>\n<li>More than 600 foreign nationals have crossed from Iran into neighbouring Azerbaijan in recent days, including citizens of Russia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Romania and the United States.<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine, China and South Korea have become the latest countries to advise their citizens to leave Israel and Iran, citing a \u201csignificant deterioration of the security situation\u201d in the region.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Diplomacy<\/p>\n<ul class=\"spaced-bullet-spacing\">\n<li>United States President Donald Trump, after leaving the G7 summit early, said he was not pushing for an Israel-Iran ceasefire but wanted a \u201creal end\u201d, with Iran \u201cgiving up entirely\u201d on nuclear weapons.<\/li>\n<li>He also wrote on his Truth Social platform that \u201cwe now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran\u201d, without clarifying further, and made a thinly veiled threat to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.<\/li>\n<li>The remarks come as US Vice President JD Vance said Trump may take \u201cfurther action to end Iranian enrichment\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia was ready to act as a mediator, but added that there is a \u201creluctance, at least on the part of Israel\u201d, to start talks.<\/li>\n<li>Russia\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced Israel\u2019s continued attacks as illegal.<\/li>\n<li>Jordan\u2019s King Abdullah II warned that Israel\u2019s attacks on Iran threatened to dangerously escalate tensions and were \u201ca threat to people everywhere\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Qatar also said it \u201cstrongly condemns\u201d Israel\u2019s attacks, calling them \u201can uncalculated measure that will have very dire repercussions\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>French President Emmanuel Macron said he was against military action against Iran that could lead to regime change and potential \u201cchaos\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of Yemen\u2019s Houthi movement\u2019s political bureau, said the group would come to the aid of
