Writer-director Jane Schoenbrun<\/strong> (I Saw the TV Glow, We\u2019re All Going to the World\u2019s Fair) has announced<\/a> the completion of production on their third film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Described the film as \u201cPortrait of a Lady on Fire<\/strong> set in a Friday the 13th<\/strong> sequel,\u201d the horror film stars Gillian Anderson<\/strong> (\u201cThe X-Files\u201d) and Hannah Einbinder<\/strong> (\u201cHacks\u201d).<\/p>\n

It follows a queer filmmaker hired to direct a new installment of a long-running slasher franchise. The director fixates on the prospect of casting the \u2018final girl\u2019 from the original movie, and the two women descend into a frenzy of psychosexual mania.<\/p>\n

\u201cI make movies I wish existed when I was a kid,\u201d Schoenbrun said prior to production. \u201cTeenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is my best attempt at the \u2018sleepover classic:\u2019 an insane yet cozy midnight odyssey that beckons to unsuspecting viewers from the horror section at the local video store.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film is expected to be released in 2026 via Mubi, which produced alongside Brad Pitt\u2019s Plan B Entertainment.<\/p>\n
