According to director Joseph Kosinski, she was involved in a storyline that unfortunately wasn\u2019t explored in\u00a0F1: The Movie.<\/p>\n<p>Why Simone Ashley was cut from the F1 movie<\/p>\n<p>In July 0f 2024, actress Simone Ashley was cast in the upcoming\u00a0F1 movie, to play a role that was left undefined.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old British actress is best known for her role as Kate Bridgerton in seasons two and three of the period drama of the same name, as well as serving as a supporting actress in the show\u00a0Sex Education.<\/p>\n<p>Ashley was spotted filming with film leads Brad Pitt and Damson Idris at several Grands Prix \u2014 but look for her in the final cut of the movie, and you\u2019ll struggle to spot her.<\/p>\n<p>More about the F1 movie:<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/features\/brad-pitt-f1-movie-insider-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brad Pitt F1 movie: An insider\u2019s complete guide to the F1 film<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/news\/tickets-for-early-premiere-screenings-of-brad-pitts-f1-movie-set-to-go-on-sale\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tickets for early premiere screenings of Brad Pitt\u2019s F1 movie set to go on sale<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to director Joseph Kosinski in an exclusive interview with\u00a0People, there was no ill intention behind the decision; Ashley was simply part of a storyline that couldn\u2019t be squished into the final cut of the film, which already runs for two hours and 36 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use,\u201d Kosinski explained. \u201cThere were two or three storylines that ultimately didn\u2019t make into the final cut.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Simone, she\u2019s an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ashley will still appear in the film, albeit without any dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s currently no word from Ashley herself as to how she feels about the ultimate reduction of her role, though she did admit to\u00a0ELLE\u00a0earlier in June that \u201cI have a very small part, but I\u2019m grateful to be in that movie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI met for this movie, I think, before Bridgerton even came out,\u201d Ashley said of her role in\u00a0F1 to\u00a0Who What Wear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a long time, and you know, it\u2019s Damson and Brad\u2019s movie.
