Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of one of Mark Richardson’s<\/a> top associates.<\/p>\n Thugs allegedly attacked David McMillan, 54, with machetes outside his house on Pitcairn Grove <\/a>in Edinburgh on Thursday, May 22.<\/p>\n The incident was the third time McMillan<\/a> was targeted after his front door was torched on April 17, and an SUV parked in his driveway was set on fire on May 8.<\/p>\n The two men, aged 26 and 20, were charged on Monday and appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court <\/a>yesterday, Tuesday, June 17.<\/p>\n The two latest arrests in connection with Operation Portaledge<\/a>, the ongoing investigation into the gang war, brings the total to 47.Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Ferry said: \u201cFurther to these arrests, we have also recovered a vehicle <\/a>and a firearm, both of which are believed to have been used in recent incidents. \u201cThis activity highlights our continued commitment to tackling organised crime<\/a> and we are following a number of positive lines of enquiry. \u201cWe still require further support from local communities as our investigation progresses.
