Chris Eubank Jr’s use of a sauna to cut weight will now be brought to a hearing in front of the British Boxing Board Of Control [BBBofC<\/strong>].<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eubank Jr had severe struggles cutting weight to reach the 160lbs limit for his huge victory over Conor Benn<\/a> on April 26.<\/p>\n

He posted videos which attracted huge concerns from the boxing fraternity, where he tried to cut using a sauna and heat suit.<\/p>\n

Use of these methods are strictly prohibited prior to fights according to the BBBofC.<\/p>\n

As a result, it was confirmed by British boxing chief Robert Smith that an official investigation would be conducted<\/a> into the videos and his methodology.<\/p>\n

The case has now moved on with Eubank Jr now being ordered to face the British Boxing Board of Control in a hearing.<\/p>\n

It is unclear if he could face any disciplinary action based on the videos related to the fight.<\/p>\n

He will hope not to face the same punishment as world champion John Riel Casemiro<\/a> did for his showdown with Paul Butler in 2022.<\/p>\n

The fight was cancelled, action which can’t be applied to Eubank Jr, and he was also subsequently stripped of his world title.<\/p>\n

Eubank Jr will hope to reach a positive conclusion before any potential rematch with Benn.<\/p>\n

Despite the gruelling cut, Eubank Jr narrowly missed weight and faced a financial penalty of \u00a3375,000<\/a> after breaching the contract.<\/p>\n

Concerns were voiced over Eubank Jr’s health given his struggles, but he was able to make the following day’s rehydrated weight of 170lbs.<\/p>\n

And it didn’t affect his display as he was part of an epic night which ended in glory, as he beat his rival on points in front of 60,000 fans.<\/p>\n

Eubank Jr was admitted to hospital<\/a> after the brutal war saw him left dehydrated and with injuries.<\/p>\n

But despite all of the medical scares, Benn has a rematch clause and a second episode is being explored to take place later in the year.<\/p>\n

‘Next Gen’ wants to accept the fight and it is being eyed for a date in September<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Renowned boxing trainer Adam Booth told talkSPORT that a rehydration clause and a fairer weight need to be agreed for any sequel to materialise.<\/p>\n

He said: “I’d like to see it again, but not unless there is no rehydration clause. He has to do it without the rehydration clause.<\/p>\n

“One of the guys [Eubank Jr] was inhibited at fight time. That is something that needs to be discussed much more.<\/p>\n

“The reason he decided to turn it into a bit of a war is because he couldn’t box anymore.<\/p>\n

“You could see his legs weren’t working. He was not throwing punches with any power or snap.<\/p>\n

“Benn showed balls, but Eubank Jr couldn’t force his size advantage on him.<\/p>\n

“Conor will be second time around, but it depends on the same terms. The restriction of the rehydration clause is the main thing.<\/p>\n

“If you effect someone’s body to not be healthy in a combat sport, I have a problem with that.”<\/p>\n
