Food shopping accounts for the biggest proportion of households’ “basic spending” in Northern Ireland, according to research from the Consumer Council.<\/p>\n

That is the highest level since it started monitoring these figures two years ago.<\/p>\n

It comes as the rate at which prices are rising, known as inflation, remained unchanged last month at 3.4%.<\/p>\n
