The newest building at Aire Park, Leeds\u2019 24-acre mixed use development on the former Tetley brewery site, has reached a major milestone, with developer Vastint UK celebrating not only topping out the striking seven-storey building but also naming it, The Keystone.<\/p>\n
Offering 75,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, and almost 7,000 sq ft of flexible ground floor retail and leisure space, The Keystone has been earmarked as one of the city\u2019s most sought-after commercial spaces.<\/p>\n
The building\u2019s name references its unique shape and footprint which is located on the corner of Waterloo Street and Hunslet Road. The new landmark building will act as a gateway to Aire Park on the approach from Leeds train station and the city centre.<\/p>\n
With floor to ceiling windows, a rooftop terrace with views across the city and expansive green space on its doorstep, The Keystone is an exemplar of contemporary working environments.\u00a0 Targeting BREEAM Excellent, along with WiredScore and WELL certifications, the building puts sustainability and occupier wellbeing at its heart.<\/p>\n
The Keystone is the latest addition to Aire Park, which saw its first commercial buildings \u2013 1 and 3 South Brook Street \u2013 open last year.\u00a0 The building\u2019s first tenants, expected when the building completes next year, will join a growing community of national and international businesses, including TPT, interactive investor and Devonshires.<\/p>\n

Designed by architects Cartwright Pickard, the building prioritises natural light and has been designed to create an inspiring gateway to the district. With an active ground floor offering retail and leisure opportunities alongside the new Grade A office space, the new building brings to life Vastint UK\u2019s development ethos of creating a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant community.<\/p>\n

Over 60 percent of the fa\u00e7ade uses a single pre-cast panel type, enhancing efficiency and reducing waste. The Keystone has been delivered by a construction team including Leeds-based Moortown as principal contractor, alongside JPT Roofing and engineering company Inhus which has designed and delivered the pre-cast panel system.<\/p>\n
