Leeds United have made contact over a deal for Aston Villa left-back Alex Moreno, sources have told Football Insider<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Villa are ready to sell the defender, 32, this summer and have told the Barcelona youth product that he is free to find a new club.<\/p>\n

Leeds<\/a> face competition from Spanish clubs for Moreno but are working on a deal and have opened preliminary discussions to that end.<\/p>\n

The Whites have made a deal for a new left-back a top priority for the summer window, which re-opened on Tuesday (17 June).<\/p>\n

Leeds make contact over Moreno deal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Junior Firpo<\/a>, who played a key role in Leeds\u2019 Championship<\/a> title-winning campaign, is expected to leave Elland Road at the end of his contract this month.<\/p>\n

Moreno spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest<\/a> but they have declined to activate the option to buy they agreed with Aston Villa.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The former Real Betis star arrived in England with Aston Villa<\/a> in January 2023 and quickly became established in the side under Unai Emery.<\/p>\n

However, Lucas Digne clawed back his place in the Villa side and Ian Maatsen was subsequently signed last summer (2024) to signal the end of his career with the Midlands giants.<\/p>\n

Moreno\u2019s contract at Villa Park is set to run until June 2026.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Leeds will reportedly face competition from fellow promoted side Burnley<\/a> for last season\u2019s loan star Manor Solomon.<\/p>\n

That is according to former Tottenham and Man United scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game.<\/p>\n

Brown claimed both clubs are eyeing moves for the winger, who remains under contract at Spurs after the expiry of his Elland Road loan.<\/p>\n

Solomon scored 10 goals and notched 13 assists in 41 appearances for Leeds in the 2024-25 campaign.<\/p>\n
