Mehmet Tufan, of Dovecot Place, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/dovecot\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Dovecot<\/a>, is accused of the unlawful killing of Leo Tufan, who died aged four on December 14 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The 30-year-old defendant appeared before <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/courts\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool Magistrates&#8217; Court<\/a> this afternoon, Wednesday, in order to face this single count. Wearing a blue coat over a grey t-shirt and shorts in the dock of courtroom 22 and sporting short dark hair, he spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during a brief hearing and was not asked to enter any pleas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Tufan&#8217;s case was sent to Liverpool Crown Court, where he will now appear on July 16, due to the seriousness of the alleged offence.
