Liverpool<\/a> are reportedly preparing a \u2018big-money bid\u2019 for Newcastle<\/a> star Alexander Isak<\/a>. The Reds are in the market for a striker this summer, with Arne Slot<\/a> in the heart of a major rebuild of his ranks on Merseyside.<\/p>\n

The Premier League title winners have already replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> with Jeremie Frimpong in a deal worth \u00a329.5million from Bayer Leverkusen, and they remain locked in talks with the Bundesliga outfit over a second transfer, with Florian Wirtz eyed.<\/p>\n

With a deal for Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth now also on the horizon, Liverpool<\/a> appearing to be turning their attention to one of their biggest transfer priorities \u2013 acquiring the services of a marquee No. 9.<\/p>\n

According to GiveMeSport<\/a>, the Reds are set to table a significant offer for Newcastle<\/a> star Isak, though there is an awareness that any sort of deal for the Sweden international will be \u2018difficult\u2019.<\/p>\n

Liverpool<\/a>\u2019s move for Wirtz is expected to break the current British transfer record (Chelsea<\/a>\u2019s \u00a3115m signing of Moises Caicedo, but the Anfield outfit are prepared to break the record for the second time \u2018in succession\u2019. They are \u2018determined\u2019 to sign Isak and are set to submit an opening bid worth \u00a3100m plus add-ons.<\/p>\n

However, it is unclear whether that will test the resolve of Newcastle<\/a> given that they are demanding a fee upwards of \u00a3150m. Nevertheless, Liverpool<\/a> made already made it clear that they would be willing to splash the cash if their \u2018dream target\u2019 is available.<\/p>\n

The Reds are hopeful of offloading some of their fringe stars to fund their pursuit, with Darwin Nunez expected to be one of the first names out of the Anfield exit. The Uruguay international has been the subject of talks with Napoli recently, and there is also interest from Saudi Pro League sides in the ex-Benfica forward.<\/p>\n

Luis Diaz could also leave the club this summer amid links to Barcelona, with Diogo Jota also facing an uncertain future on Merseyside.
