{"id":19566,"date":"2025-04-14T15:52:06","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T15:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/19566\/"},"modified":"2025-04-14T15:52:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T15:52:06","slug":"manchester-united-line-up-mercedes-f1-engineer-as-part-of-ineos-reshuffle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/19566\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester United line up Mercedes F1 engineer as part of INEOS reshuffle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sir Jim Ratcliffe could use INEOS\u2019 part ownership of the Mercedes Formula 1 team to help improve another of his assets, Manchester United.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The British billionaire is a co-owner of both the Silver Arrows and the Red Devils and although there has been little cooperation between the two thus far, that could change in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Mercedes data analyst set for Manchester United role?<\/p>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/team\/mercedes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mercedes<\/a> have not been at their title-winning best since 2021, the problems at Manchester United are far deeper and have been going on far longer with the club not winning the Premier League title since\u00a02013.<\/p>\n<p>Ratcliffe took over a portion of the club last year and will now lean on his F1 involvement to improve the data side of the football operations.<\/p>\n<p>That could lead to current Mercedes engineer\u00a0Michael Sansoni joining Manchester United\u2019s data team, which\u00a0Ratcliffe told the United We Stand fanzine was \u201cstill in the last century of data analysis\u201d and it \u201cdoesn\u2019t really exist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil we\u2019re are as good as anyone in the world, then it\u2019s not good enough for Manchester United,\u2019 he said. \u201cWe must have the best recruitment in the world. Data analysis comes alongside recruitment. It doesn\u2019t really exist here. We\u2019re still in the last century on data analysis here.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s immense amount of useful data that we can get from data analysis and we\u2019re in the \u2018very poor\u2019 bracket with data analysis here.
