Whatever your scenario, there are some medicines which need extra attention before you set off on your travels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Some relatively popular pain-killers are actually restricted in some places, according to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.which.co.uk\/reviews\/travel-health\/article\/how-to-travel-with-your-medication-legally-and-safely-aBT8I3o3iWIw\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">experts at Which?<\/a> who say it\u2019s important to check if your pills are complying with the<a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.gov.uk\/ukpga\/1971\/38\/contents\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\"> UK\u2019s Misuse of Drugs Act 1971<\/a>. If you\u2019re leaving the country with medicine that contains a controlled drug, you\u2019ll have to prove its intended use with a letter from your doctor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Codeine or medication containing codeine can get you arrested in countries like Thailand and the UAE (United Arab Emirates). These can be found in certain medications, including Nurofen Plus and Solpadeine. Countries have different restrictions on how much a passenger can bring into the country. Still, a medical letter from a professional will be needed as proof.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">If the person travelling intends to be outside of the country for a long period of time, they will need to apply for a <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/drugs-licensing\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">personal license from the Home Office<\/a> at least 15 days before the intended departure date.
