Prince Andrew was excluded from the Garter Day ceremony, held on June 17, for the fourth consecutive year. The disgraced Prince also did not attend the 2025 Trooping the Colour. His daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, also did not attend. Andrew has been a Garter Night since 2008, and sources say that he attended an event behind closed doors. \u201c[Andrew] won\u2019t participate in the procession but he has been invited to the lunch and investiture,\u201d a source told\u00a0the Express<\/a>. The act was seen as a compromise by both the King and Andrew, the insider added.<\/p>\n More from StyleCaster<\/strong><\/p>\n The Order of the Garter was founded by King Edward III in 1348 and is considered the most senior and the oldest British Order of Chivalry.<\/p>\n Andrew\u2019s reputation suffered after his involvement with convicted sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein. he resigned from his public roles with the royal family in May 2020, and had his honorary military affiliations and royal charitable patronages removed by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in January 2022<\/p>\n The news comes after it was reported that Prince William will try to excommunicate Prince Andrew from the royal family all together once he\u2019s king. \u201cPrince William<\/a>\u00a0has long had a strained and distant relationship with Andrew,\u201d British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told\u00a0Fox News<\/a>\u00a0in May 2025, adding that William has \u201ca grudge against his disgraced uncle.\u201d<\/p>\n Related: Not Just Harry! Once king, no doubt, Prince William will ensure Andrew is completely excluded from royal life, as well as all public appearances.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAndrew\u2019s future within the royal family is beyond bleak, since Prince William is firmly opposed to any public rehabilitation with no foreseeable path back,\u201d Fordwich claimed. \u201cHe wants Andrew to vanish from public view.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cPrince William\u2019s role within the royal family is more prominent and influential than ever, as is his center stage position in diplomatic relations,\u201d British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard added to Fox News.<\/p>\n \u201cHe recognizes the public animosity towards Andrew. He views him as a complete liability with his series of scandals, both past and present, shoveling shame on the family,\u201d the expert continued. \u201cHis stance towards his uncle is tough. He will not entertain anyone toxic to the brand. Andrew will not be part of the streamlined monarchy.\u201d<\/p>\n William\u2019s issues with his uncle don\u2019t extend to Princess Andrew\u2019s daughters,\u00a0Princess Beatrice<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Princess Eugenie<\/a>. Instead, the two, who are not working royals, are expected to take on larger roles once Prince William becomes King.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen William ascends the throne,\u00a0Beatrice and Eugenie<\/a>\u00a0will be valuable assets, and I\u2019m certain they will get involved with royal duties.
