Liverpool are still waiting to confirm their second signing of what is turning into a busy summer transfer window.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong more than two weeks ago, with Caoimhin Kelleher and Trent Alexander-Arnold heading out the exit door.<\/p>\n

More additions to the Liverpool squad<\/a> are expected, with Florian Wirtz likely to join over the coming days.<\/p>\n

As well as Wirtz, a transfer for left-back Milos Kerkez<\/a> is projected to be wrapped up, with Liverpool<\/a> finally reaching a breakthrough with Bournemouth.<\/p>\n

Kerkez\u2019s move to Anfield<\/a> has been one of football\u2019s worst kept secrets over recent weeks, with the Hungarian making it clear that he intends to join Arne Slot\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

However, after an excellent season in the Premier League with the Cherries, journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that other suitors have been trying to convince Kerkez to change his mind right up until the last minute.<\/p>\n

For Liverpool fans, it must feel as though the negotiations for both Wirtz and Kerkez have been dragging on forever.<\/p>\n

Despite that, it is still only mid-June, with pre-season just under three weeks away.<\/p>\n

Should the Reds tie both players up over the coming days, they will both be free to report to the Liverpool training ground<\/a> on day one of the summer camp.<\/p>\n

And according to Romano, that is the expectation. Asked by fellow reporter Ben Jacobs whether Liverpool fans can expect to see Kerkez announced next Monday, the transfer expert claimed that although other clubs have tried to hijack the Reds\u2019 attempts, the 21-year-old is all set to become a Red.<\/p>\n

\u201cCould be [announced on Monday],\u201d Romano replied. \u201cThe day could change based on some technical things they have to resolve, but what I heard weeks ago is it\u2019s just about some technical things, but there is no issue. He will be a Liverpool player because he is not considering any other destinations.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cSome clubs tried to call in the last two, three weeks to try to understand what\u2019s going on but the answer was always \u2018sorry, but I\u2019m going to Liverpool.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u201cClub to club is almost there, it\u2019s just a matter of when,\u201d adds the reporter. \u201cIt could be Monday, it could be another moment, we will see in the next days but Kerkez will be the new left-back for Arne Slot.\u201d<\/p>\n

What next for Liverpool?<\/p>\n

Once Wirtz and Kerkez are wrapped up for Liverpool it feels likely that there may be a lull in the transfer goings on.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, more is still needed in terms of arrivals, and it is fair to assume that the Reds will turn their attention to a new striker in particular.<\/p>\n

With so many other clubs also looking for a number nine this summer, there are a lot of moving parts here, and nothing is likely to be imminent.<\/p>\n

But Liverpool supporters should rest assured that their club will be doing what they can to make it an even bigger summer at Anfield.<\/p>\n
