{"id":196849,"date":"2025-06-19T10:04:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T10:04:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/196849\/"},"modified":"2025-06-19T10:04:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T10:04:10","slug":"new-liverpool-organisation-championing-the-citys-arts-and-culture-celebrates-first-full-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/196849\/","title":{"rendered":"New Liverpool organisation championing the city&#8217;s arts and culture celebrates first full year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Culture Network LCR CIC, the new membership organisation championing the Liverpool City Region\u2019s arts and culture sector, is marking a milestone first year since launching in Spring 2024.<\/p>\n<p>With 65+ member organisations and growing, the network has quickly become a vital advocate for the region\u2019s creative and cultural sector\u2014driving collaboration, supporting economic growth, and expanding access to culture across the region.<\/p>\n<p>\nA Year of Impact \u2013 At a Glance:\n<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>65+ cultural member organisations and growing across the Liverpool City Region<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\u00a3100 million+ contributed annually to the regional economy by member organisations<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>\u00a387 million in Gross Value Added (GVA) from the sector to the local economy<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>11.6 million attendees reached across cultural events in the past year<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>1.2 million participants actively engaged in cultural programmes<br \/>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>33,500+ cultural events delivered by network members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/unnamed-3-2-e1750326304693.jpg\" alt=\"The Culture Network\" class=\"wp-image-221752\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Collectively, member organisations contribute over \u00a3100 million annually to the regional economy. With the inclusion of members Liverpool John Moores University and University of Liverpool, this impact rises even more dramatically to over \u00a3800 million. The network\u2019s members (excluding the listed universities) employ more than 2,000 full time equivalent cultural professionals, contributing over \u00a387 million in Gross Value Added to the LCR economy. This employment figure doesn\u2019t even include part time, freelance or commissioned creatives!<\/p>\n<p>Over the past year, members attracted 11.6 million attendees and engaged 1.2 million participants across more than 33,500 cultural events. The network has grown by 47% since launching, expanding far beyond Liverpool city. Notably, 67% of members deliver programming in the surrounding boroughs, with 25% based in those areas, ensuring that access to arts and culture extends across the region.<\/p>\n<p>The Culture Network LCR has formed five member-led working groups focusing on Strategy, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion &amp; Access (EDIA), Joint Promotion, Metal\u2019s Sustainability Network \u2018Shift\u2019, plus Participation &amp; Skills. These groups have led initiatives that include hosting nine sector-wide roundtable discussions, engaging with the Culture Secretary during the Labour Party Conference, lobbying MPs and councillors on funding and policy issues, and contributing to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport\u2019s Civil Society Covenant.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/unnamed-14-e1750326311671.jpg\" alt=\"The Culture Network\" class=\"wp-image-221751\"\/><br \/>\n<strong>Charlotte Corrie, Executive Director of The Culture Network LCR<\/strong> said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur first year has shown the incredible power of collaboration across the region\u2019s cultural and creative sector.
