Leeds United have plans in mind to improve Elland Road in the coming years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Whites revealed plans to enhance\u00a0the LS11 stadium in April 2025, with a view to increasing the capacity from 37,645 to 56,500.<\/p>\n

There is hope to keep the elements of the ground that make it as iconic as it is, while regenerating around 30 acres of land in the surrounding area.<\/p>\n

As positive as all this could prove to be at Elland Road<\/a>, plans may soon be put on hold after what has been said on talkSPORT this week.<\/p>\n

With the Yorkshire club back in the Premier League and these plans drawn up, it looks to be an exciting time for everyone associated with LS11.<\/p>\n

This has seen Daniel Farke<\/a> guide his side to promotion, with the hopes of bucking the trend to survive as a new side in the division.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It is fair to say that this will be far from an easy task, with new signings certainly required, with a free transfer already done for Lukas Nmecha after his release from Wolfsburg<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Whoever else comes in needs to be good enough to keep the Whites in the league, if not, the stadium plans could be thrown into doubt.<\/p>\n

This is the opinion of former Leeds boss David O\u2019Leary, who told talkSPORT (19 June, 09:14am) what could happen if a Premier League place isn\u2019t maintained.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThese clubs that come up, the way the rules are with what they can spend, they\u2019re against them as well as trying to stay up. Leeds is a Premier League club with a great fanbase and a great history. <\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got to invest, they want to build a new stadium, and the only way that can get built is by staying in the Premier League, not yo-yoing up and down. For their future and to build that new stadium, they need to be a club that is regularly in the Premier League.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Farke must keep Leeds United in the Premier League<\/strong><\/p>\n

The fact that redevelopment plans at Elland Road could collapse if Farke isn\u2019t successful could prove to be a driving force behind any decisions.<\/p>\n

As a result, links to the likes of Jose Mourinho at Leeds<\/a> may be set to return to the fore in the near future if the Whites don\u2019t hit the ground running in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
