{"id":197356,"date":"2025-06-19T14:31:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T14:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/197356\/"},"modified":"2025-06-19T14:31:17","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T14:31:17","slug":"nottinghamshire-care-service-raises-nearly-5000-for-childrens-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/197356\/","title":{"rendered":"Nottinghamshire Care Service raises nearly \u00a35,000 for children\u2019s charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Staff at a care service in Nottinghamshire have raised close to \u00a35,000 since the start of 2025 for a charity that supports children at\u00a0Sheffield\u00a0Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Located on Central Drive, Cygnet Manor is a 20-bed care service for men with learning disabilities and associated complex needs.<\/p>\n<p>The Shirebrook-based service chose The Children\u2019s\u00a0Hospital\u00a0Charity as the focus of their fundraising efforts for the year due to the support that staff have received in the past from the charity.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The charity provides support for patients at\u00a0Sheffield\u00a0Children\u2019s\u00a0Hospital, pioneers ground-breaking\u00a0medical\u00a0treatments and creates a comfortable and engaging environment for children at the\u00a0hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/JS372925314.jpg\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1501\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>The team at Cygnet Manor fundraised their highest amount to date with \u00a33,353 raised that day alone.<\/p>\n<p>The Cygnet Health Care service held a Family Fun Day at Shirebrook Cricket Club for the local community, who were entertained with games, face painting, a bouncy castle, and a DJ. There were also local businesses providing food and drink as well as selling their products to help raise funds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mellissa Greenwood, head of care at the Cygnet Health Care service, highlighted the success of the day.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said: \u201cI can\u2019t believe how much we raised at our Family Fun Day. I am so proud of everyone. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s an astounding amount that will really make a difference to such a worthy charity that means so much to a lot of us here at Cygnet Manor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been fundraising for The Children\u2019s\u00a0Hospital\u00a0Charity since January with events like raffles and bake sales. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The charity has supported some of our staff and their children in the past so we just want to give something back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/JS372925308.jpg\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1333\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>A whopping \u00a3500 was raised from a single-item raffle, which saw attendees try and get their hands on a signed Manchester United football shirt that was kindly donated by the community. <\/p>\n<p>Getting into the football spirit, the Cygnet Group staff took on a local construction company, Miller Knight, at a charity football game winning 6-4 and keeping the donations rolling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mellissa added: \u201cIt was an amazing day and it was so nice to see the local community step up and help us in fundraising. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So many businesses kindly donated prizes and we couldn\u2019t have raised this much money without them!
