We can be physically better than them. We’ve just got to physically outrun them and take them to the final whistle.

“It’s probably my biggest game for England so I’m looking forward to it.”

Asked if he would take a penalty if it went to a shootout, Hutchinson replied: “Yeah, 100%. At Ipswich I wasn’t the penalty taker, but I’m going to start practicing in training now (ahead of this game).”

On the defeat to Germany, in which England were much improved after the break, he reflected: “We kept going. (I produced) a little bit of skill and luckily Alex (Scott) put it away. Cars backs me to dominate my opponent and that’s what I try to do at my best.

“He (Carsley) spoke to us all in the half-time and said that we we all needed to wake up. It was a very poor performance in the first half. It was very lax. We were losing our duels, our second balls and that’s the one thing that he’s big on.

“I don’t know why (it was). Sometimes it’s how it is. Sometimes you need a wake-up call and second half we could have gotten another two goals. It was very unfortunate but we’re through so we just have to improve for the next one.”

On his own performances, he said: “I’ve been getting a lot of the ball around the edge of the box. hat’s one thing I need to work on being able to get a clearer shot off on target. I’ll go and look at it again and try my best.”

The 21-year-old has played an important role in helping Lee Carsley’s men set up a quarter-final clash with Spain on…

[5312
2000,299,104
0":"post-197573","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-spain","8":"tag-eu","9":"tag-europe","10":"tag-spain
["GET
