A man has been jailed after cops raided a retail unit<\/a> and seized \u00a36.3 million worth of cannabis.<\/p>\n Petrit Gjuraj, 24, was jailed for three years and three months at the High Court in Edinburgh today, Thursday, June 19 for being concerned in the production of the controlled drug.<\/a><\/p>\n Acting on intelligence, cops raided a disused unit on Kirkcaldy’s High Street on May 4, 2022, and discovered the cannabis farm<\/a> over three stories of the building, worth up to \u00a36.3 million. The sophisticated cultivation <\/a>included a total of 1330 plants. Each area had irrigation, industrial heating and lighting units for the plants and there was living quarters for workers. Detective Sergeant Kayleigh Lewis, Fife CID, said: \u201cUncovering a cultivation of this scale has a significant impact <\/a>on the supply of cannabis onto Scotland\u2019s streets. \u201cI hope that this sentencing sends a clear message to anyone involved in the production and supply of illegal drugs that we will use all resources at our disposal to track you down and ensure you face the consequences. <\/a>\u201cPolice Scotland remains committed to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country\u2019s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy<\/a>, and our officers are determined to protect members of the public from this type of criminality \u201cThe support we receive from the public is vital and we urge anyone with information or concerns regarding drugs in their community to contact police through 101.
