She was 55.<\/p>\n<p>Burrell, a recognizable figure on the culinary channel thanks to her spiky platinum blonde hairdo and tart wit, died on June 17 at her home in New York, according to a press release from the Food Network. A cause of death was not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>The New York-bred chef made her Food Network debut in 2005 on the cutthroat competition series &#8220;Iron Chef America,&#8221; serving as a sous chef for Iron Chef <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/money\/2019\/03\/06\/mario-batali-exits-restaurant-biz-due-sexual-misconduct-allegations\/3080793002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mario Batali<\/a>. She also hosted the shows &#8220;Secrets of a Restaurant Chef&#8221; and &#8220;Worst Cooks in America.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent \u2014 teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring,&#8221; a Food Network spokesperson said in a statement. &#8220;Our thoughts are with Anne&#8217;s family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">&#8216;A beautiful spirit&#8217;: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2025\/06\/17\/david-hekili-kenui-bell-dead-lilo-and-stitch\/84247905007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;Lilo &amp; Stitch&#8217; actor David Hekili Kenui Bell dies at 46<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Inspired by both her mother and fellow TV chef personality <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/tv\/2022\/03\/31\/julia-child-legacy-hbo-max-discovery-food-shows\/7213677001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Julia Child<\/a>, Burrell enrolled in The Culinary Institute of America after graduating with a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.<\/p>\n<p>She also developed her culinary chops by attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, during which she completed various apprenticeships and studied Italian cuisine.
