Manny Pacquiao<\/a> is on the verge of making a shock return to the ring.<\/p>\n

The eight-division world champion will challenge reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios<\/a> at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday July 19.<\/p>\n

Pacquiao has not fought since he announced his retirement from the sport back in 2021, shortly after suffering a defeat to former WBA world welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas.<\/p>\n

One man who has conquered the welterweight division in recent years is Terence Crawford<\/a>, who became the first undisputed champion of the \u2018four belt era\u2019 when he defeated Errol Spence Jr in the summer of 2023.<\/a><\/p>\n

In an interview with Seconds Out, Crawford was asked if he believes Pacquiao is \u2018too old\u2019 to be making a return to the professional ranks as he approaches his 47th birthday but says there is \u2018no limit\u2019 on an all time great.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t say if he\u2019s too old or not you know, if he gets in there and wins then everybody will be saying differently so I don\u2019t put no limit on an all-time-great like Manny Pacquiao.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u2018Pac-Man\u2019 will write his name into boxing history once again should he prevail against Barrios, as he bids to become the oldest world welterweight champion of all time.<\/p>\n

He actually set the record himself back in 2019 when he defeated Keith Thurman to capture the WBA welterweight title.<\/p>\n

This was the Filipino icon\u2019s last win as a professional, which has left many questioning whether the 46-year-old is making a big mistake heading into his bout against \u2018El Azteca\u2019, who is unquestionably the fresher and more active fighter of the two.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Manny Pacquiao is on the verge of making a shock return to the ring.
