Last December, <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-14152179\/major-tech-firm-ceo-forced-staff-laid-off.html\" rel=\"noopener\">Intel slashed 15 percent of its workforce<\/a> after its stock price dropped by more than 60 percent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The two sets of layoffs are a response to rising pressure from upstart competitors, compounding financial losses, and a declining stock price.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">For years, Intel had been a dominant force in tech, manufacturing components for computers such as chips and microprocessors.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">But in recent years, its competitors have made major technological strides. Chipmakers AMD, IBM, TSMC, and NVIDIA have surged past Intel by investing heavily in processors built for artificial intelligence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">AI chip deployment has been a weak spot for Intel.
